Distinguished Young Leader – Taylour J. Coleman

Taylour J., DrPH(c), MPH, BCPA is a dedicated Public Health Professional, Chief Executive Officer, and Patient Advocate. A graduate of Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School, she excelled academically, graduating in the top 5% of her class. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master of Public Health (MPH).

Taylour completed a prestigious internship at Johns Hopkins University, where she conducted research on Lyme Borreliosis, focusing on expressing DbpA, a protein that holds potential for future Lyme disease vaccine development. She later contributed as a Research Assistant at the Johns Hopkins University Disability Health Research Center, co-authoring the publication “Transit Accessibility Tool (TRACT): Developing a Novel Scoring System for Public Transportation System Accessibility.”

In her federal government role, Taylour collaborated with state and local health departments to support COVID-19 vaccine distribution, providing programmatic guidance to reach underserved populations. She also partnered with long-term care facilities and pharmacies to offer on-site vaccinations and facilitated the clearance of critical public health documents essential during the pandemic.

In 2022, she founded and organized the World Sjögren’s Day Benefit Concert, an event dedicated to raising awareness and support for Sjögren’s Disease. As Founder and CEO of The She Rose Foundation USA, Taylour is dedicated to decreasing health disparities for Black girls and women and leads efforts in providing scholarships, advancing health equity, and spearheading initiatives in research and community service.
