Chuck West, President and CEO of OCTET Productions, a full-service film and television production company, is a nationally-acclaimed Broadway, urban theater, and film producer.
Hailing from Central High School in Prince George’s County, Maryland, West is a former American University basketball star where he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance with a concentration in accounting. He commenced his career as a financier and partner, producing landmark plays with acclaimed playwright, screenwriter, and director David E. Talbert. As general manager, West was responsible for the national tours of Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk; Lord of the Dance; Rent; and Jesus Christ Superstar. In addition, he produced over a dozen David E. Talbert theatrical productions, including He Say, She Say… But What Does God Say? starring Kirk Franklin.
Through the years, West has become a standout industry leader, specializing in the urban market while creating universal standards and procedures for industry professionals to follow. His love for community and commitment to education led to countless hours of service to others. He has established internships and classes to expose students to the theater as part of his dedication to broadening the lives of others.
In 2015, West partnered with his wife, Bree West, to form OCTET Productions, a full-service film and television production company. He has accumulated more than 30 film credits. His priority remains educating students in the DMV and across the globe, providing film industry experience through OCTET Productions, home to the NAACP Image Award-nominated A Wesley Christmas and the top ALLBLK TV series Hush.
West, a dedicated husband and father, counts family as his greatest treasure. He and his wife have four boys and four girls.
